Answers to the things people ask most, and a real address to write to when the answer isn't here.
01Get in touch
Email feedback@stitch-portfolio.com and a person will read it. We aim to reply within two business days, Australian time.
You can also write to us from inside the app — Settings, then Suggestions & Feedback. That goes to the same place, and it tells us which version you are on automatically.
- Tell us what you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
- Include your app version — Settings, at the very bottom.
- A screenshot usually saves a round trip. Please blank out any figures you would rather not send.
- Never send us your password. We will never ask for it.
02Getting started
Create an account with your email address and a password. We email you a six-digit code to confirm it is really you — enter that code in the app and you are in. If it has not arrived after a minute, check your spam folder, then use the resend option on that screen.
From there, add whatever you want to track: a property, a savings account, super, shares, a car, a mortgage, a credit card. Stitch adds it all up into one net-worth figure.
03Adding your accounts
Stitch is built so that typing a number in always works. There is no bank connection to set up and nothing to authorise — you enter your balances, and everything in the app works from there.
When a balance changes, update it in the app and Stitch records the new figure against today's date rather than overwriting the old one. That is deliberate: it is what lets your net worth be tracked honestly over time instead of only ever showing today.
04Importing trades and holdings
If you would rather not type in every share trade, there are four ways to bring them in. All of them are optional.
- Connect a brokerage — Stitch imports your holdings and keeps them in sync.
- Import a CSV from your phone, in the app.
- Import a CSV from your computer — tap "Import a CSV" and we email you a secure upload link, good for one hour. Uploaded holdings appear in the app on their own.
- Send a photo or a file — a screenshot of your portfolio, a PDF statement or a contract note — and we read the holdings out of it for you to check before anything is saved.
- Forward a broker confirmation email to your personal Stitch address, in Settings under Personal details. We pull the trade out of it. It is a one-off forward whenever you like — there is no mail rule to configure.
05Signing in and security
Forgotten your password? Use "Forgot password" on the sign-in screen and we will email you a code to set a new one. Changing your password signs out every other device.
You can lock the app behind Face ID, Touch ID or a four-digit passcode in Settings, under Security. The lock belongs to your account on that device, so signing out and signing in as someone else does not inherit it.
If you are locked out and the passcode is not working, sign out from the lock screen and sign back in with your email and password.
06Billing and subscriptions
Subscriptions are handled by the App Store or Google Play, not by us — so that is where you manage, change or cancel one. In the app, Settings takes you straight to the right place.
Changed phones, or reinstalled? Open the subscription screen and choose Restore Purchases. Your subscription follows your Stitch account, so sign in first.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. Email us if something looks wrong and we will help you work out what happened.
07Deleting your account
Settings, then Personal details, then Delete account. It asks you to confirm, and then it is done — your portfolio, the assets and trades in it, and your sign-in are all removed. It cannot be undone, and we cannot recover it for you afterwards.
If you have an active subscription, cancel it in the App Store or Google Play as well. Deleting your Stitch account does not cancel a store subscription, because only the store can do that.
08Things Stitch does not do (yet)
So you are not left hunting for something that is not there:
- Australia only, in Australian dollars. Every figure is AUD.
- No automatic bank feeds. Bank, savings and loan balances are entered and updated by hand.
- No automatic property valuations. You set what a property is worth.
- No tax reporting. Stitch tracks what you hold, not your capital gains position.
- Stitch is not financial advice, and none of the figures in it are a recommendation.
